The first step towards your new smile begins with a complimentary consultation!
At this initial visit to our office, you will be welcomed by our friendly team, get a tour of our office facilities, and meet Dr. Fong. During the consultation we will review your dental and medical history, provide an orthodontic exam, discuss your chief concern, and determine if you or your child can benefit from orthodontic treatment. Based on the positions of your teeth and jaws, Dr. Fong will be able to form an initial diagnosis and discuss the possible treatment options. Our team can also help answer any financial questions you may have regarding insurance options and payment plans.
As part of this consultation, one of our assistants may help take a digital scan impression of your teeth. This is NOT an x-ray. It is a tiny camera that captures pictures of all your teeth to create a 3d model. This will allow Dr. Fong to clearly show you on the screen certain things about the positions/shapes of your teeth and how your teeth bite together. Some of you who have had orthodontic treatment many years ago may remember taking a putty impression of your teeth. The digital scan takes the place of this, hooray! If you decide that you'd like to get started with braces or Invisalign, there are just a few things we will need to begin treatment. This usually includes a set of photographs and an orthodontic-specific set of x-rays that are different from the ones taken at your general dentist. Dr. Fong will use these to take measurements on your teeth and jaws to evaluate tooth position, health of roots/bones, jaw growth and development, and to determine which treatment options would be most beneficial in your specific case.
